Our Free Eye Care Includes:
  • A comprehensive eye health check

  • FREE glasses for those whom are eligible under the NHS

  • Expert eye care advice

  • FREE direct cataract referrals

  • Free Delivery & fitting after care on all supplied products.

  • Free inclusive frame labelling service to prevent confusion with lost glasses or if patient has more than one pair of spectacles.

  • FREE staff training on eye care awareness, what to look out for, when to refer. Spectacle adjustments and repairs workshop inclusive with free tools to all units.

  • Further evaluations for low vision aids can also be provided free of charge for those patients whom it is clinically necessary. 

  • Antibiotics/dry eye & red eye treatments available onsite without need for GP referral.

  • Direct referral service to hospital (where pathway exists) preventing GP delays

 

Non-responsive patients must also have a sight test annually, and techniques & equipment provided by us are available that require a little cooperation in order to carry out sight test. 

Who qualifies for a free home eye test?

To receive a free NHS eye test at home, the individual must be unable to visit an optician unaccompanied due to physical or mental disability and also be any of the following:

  • People aged 60 or over

  • Those registered as blind or partially sighted

  • Diagnosed diabetic

  • Those receiving tax credit

  • Glaucoma sufferers,& their immediate relatives (if over the age of 40)

Spectacles are completely FREE OF CHARGE to those people and their partners, who receive:​

  • Income support/JSA/support allowance

  • Tax credit (includes partners)

  • DSS exemption certificate (HC2/HC3)(excluding partners
